Some important updates and settings to review
Personal data laws are changing in the European Union, and we want to make it easy for you to view some of your data settings.
Please take a few minutes to review these updates and make choices about some specific data settings.

Here’s what we’ll have you review:
How we use the specially protected personal data you choose to add on your profile
How we use personal data from partners to show you relevant ads
An option to turn on face recognition
Our updated Terms, Data Policy and Cookies Policy

If you add specially protected data to your profile, we’ll use it to personalize content
Because you chose to add your religious views, political views or whether you’re interested in men or women to your Facebook profile, we want to make sure you know it’s data that’s specially protected under EU law. If you decide to keep it on your profile, we’ll share it with the people you choose and use this data to personalize features and products. Select Accept and Continue to confirm that we can use this data in these ways if you share it, or Manage Data Settings to delete or make choices about this data.

What’s collected
EU law sets special rules and protections around the processing of “Special Categories of Personal Data,” which includes your religious views, political views or whether you’re interested in men or women. We allow you to add this information on your profile so the people you want can see it. We receive, process and store this information when you choose to add it.

How we use it
We’ll only use this data with your permission. We’ll make it visible on your profile to the people you want and use it to personalize features and products.

Let us know if you accept that we use data with special protections that you added to your profile in these ways, or manage your data settings to delete or review and make choices about how we use this data.
